What's more fun than watching a bunch of drag queens literally kick their heels up and take the 500 steps from 17th Street Plaza to the Castro Country Club? How 'bout pledging some pennies their way as part of this fundraiser to save the Castro Country Club, a recovery meeting and gathering place located at 4058 18th Street. Pledge a penny per step (that comes to $5, please) or $1 ($500) or anywhere in between for this worthy cause. Race is followed by a BBQ. Those who put on the heels and did the 500-step dash eat for free.
