The festival guide describes the film as:
A bigoted white plantation owner (Charlton Heston) resents native Hawaiians and mixed-bloods taking over his inheritance in this steamy, spectacular widescreen soap opera of changing political landscapes and interracial romance.
But if you haven't already grabbed your umbrella and headed out for some faux aloha with a dash of Yvette Mimieux (she plays Heston's kid sister), here's more from the San Francisco Bay Guardian.
The San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival runs through March 22, so still plenty of time to catch some cool flicks.
