GET IN FREE - TODAY - TO THE CONTEMPORARY JEWISH MUSEUM (WITH YOUR SFP LIBRARY CARD)

Present your San Francisco Public Library card for FREE entry today to the Contemporary Jewish Museum, 11 am - 5 pm. Explore the Museum's current exhibitions, including There's a Mystery There: Sendak on Sendak, As It Is Written: Project 304,805 and Jews on Vinyl: And you Shall Know Us By the Trail of our Vinyl (it's all about the Bagels and Bongos, baby).

The Contemporary Jewish Museum is located at 736 Mission Street (between Third and Fourth streets). Gotta show that SFP library card to get the freebie entry. Otherwise it's $10 ($8 with student ID or 65+).

FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE DE YOUNG: MISSION MURALISIMO BOOK LAUNCH

It's FREE Friday night at the De Young tonight. 5p - 9p. See the special exhibitions of Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs and enjoy a special Friday Nights King Tut admission discount. Live music tonight by Dr. Loco’s Rockin’ Jalapeno Band and poetry readings while you sip cocktails in the Wilsey Court or check out the CafĂ©'s evening menu featuring any three small plates for $13.

But...wait, there's more! Tonight is the opening night for the year-long series celebrating Street Art San Francisco: Mission Muralismo. Launch book party for the book of the same name, edited by Annice Jacoby, with a foreword by Carlos Santana. This series celebrates one of San Francisco’s greatest assets — the Mission District arts community, a rising star on the global art map. Both cutting-edge and traditional street artists will offer lectures and performances, sharing their art, insights, musings, experiences, and perspectives. FREE tonight. NO FOOLIN' - FREE FIRST WEDNESDAYS AT THE EXPLORATORIUM

YSL-A-GO-GO SWINGING DANCE PARTY AT THE DE YOUNG TONIGHT

Get your '60s-sense of French style on tonight at the De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park. The SF Bay Guardian hosts this FREE extravaganza dance party to celebrate the iconic fashion style of Yves Saint Laurent, featuring the wild sights and sounds of Bardot-a-Go-Go.

Ooh la la -- the go-go is definitely goin' on, starting at 6 pm 'til 8:45 pm (this is a museum, after all). Wear your go-go boots and best 40-year-old French fashion and be prepared to keep up with the Girls of Go-Go Mania who will be performing all your fave rave dances of the '60s and your hostess, Miss Trannyshack 2007, Pollo del Mar.
